A Vision for Camp Nemo
Scouts Canada and the World Organization of Scouting Members (WOSM) have set criteria for camps to become “Scout Centres of Excellence for Nature and the Environment” (SCENES). We see the SCENES designated camp as a fun place where youth can go to find adventure and leaders can find the resources they require to deal with virtually any outdoors or environmental part of their program. This will be accomplished using a mix of staff-run programming, pre-packaged program activities that leaders can do with their youth and self directed learning activities for the youth. Our vision includes fully utilizing the whole camp property to create a variety of program activities ranging from education to adventure to challenge and fun. A camp where youth and adults from all over the world can come to experience Canadian ecosystems, Canadian culture and Canadian Scouting.
