Help Needed

There are a number of construcion project related jobs that need to be done well before the Grand Opening October 22nd and we are going to need ongoing volunteer help in the larger centre. Debbie Christie has kindly offered to organize the volunteers. Below is a list of jobs and positions.

Construction jobs:

- clean up remaining buckets, tires etc from Tetonka site.

- Critter proof the area under the decks with chicken wire.

- Install trim around windows and doors.

- Paint the railings

- Repair eves and install facia on west side of building.

- Install bead board on deck ceiling.

Ongoing Program positions:

- Help do develop and facilitate new programs that will interest the various levels of Scouting

- Learn about our programs and help run them.

- Clear trails of deadfall and new growth.

- Build new bridges.

- Cut bird boxe pieces ready for youth to build.

- Maintain the Orienteering course.

- Place and manage some geocaches in camp for camp use.

- Prune apple trees, wild grapes and hawthorn trees so that we get more and better fruit.

Our Current Volunteers are:

- Marty Albert, Interpretive Naturalist, is Chief Program Planner and Hiking King


- John Christie is Webmaster and staffs the HICOP every Saturday


- Linda McCaig helps with program and splits wood to keep the woodshed full.


- Debbie Christie is developing a Tuck Shop and Craft area in the lower level, creating a butterfly garden and managing volunteers.


- Elaine Priest is documenting all the Flora of the Camp so that it can be included in program and she is helping with program.
